After NEET results are declared, seats are allocated through two parallel counselling streams — central (MCC) and state (the Maharashtra CET Cell). Understanding which seats fall under which authority determines where and how you apply.

Open to all eligible candidates regardless of caste or community. The most competitive category — seats filled purely on NEET merit within the State Quota.
Reserved seats for candidates from communities notified as Other Backward Class by the central/state OBC lists. OBC candidates are also automatically eligible for OPEN seats of the same gender if their rank qualifies.
Maharashtra's own state-notified backward class category, distinct from the central OBC list. SEBC candidates can also compete for OPEN seats within the same gender.
Reserved for candidates from the general (unreserved) category whose family income falls below the EWS threshold, on production of a valid EWS certificate.
Reserved seats for communities notified under Vimukta Jati (formerly "Denotified Tribes"), Group A, specific to Maharashtra's reservation structure.
