In Rajasthan NEET UG MBBS counselling, every seat is tagged with a category code plus gender. Your eligibility depends on your caste certificate and gender, since Rajasthan reserves seats separately by gender within every category. Understanding these codes — what they mean and which seats they unlock — is critical for effective choice-filling. Below is a complete reference for all category codes.
Open to all eligible candidates regardless of caste or community. The most competitive category — seats filled purely on NEET merit within the Govt/Gen Seat pool.
Reserved seats for candidates from communities notified as Other Backward Class by the central/state OBC lists. OBC candidates are also automatically eligible for GEN seats of the same gender if their rank qualifies.
Rajasthan's own state-notified most-backward-class category, distinct from the broader OBC list. MBC candidates can also compete for GEN seats of the same gender if their rank qualifies.
Reserved for candidates from the general (unreserved) category whose family income falls below the EWS threshold, on production of a valid EWS certificate.
A separate reservation for candidates domiciled in Rajasthan's Scheduled/Tribal Area belt (the Banswara–Dungarpur–Udaipur tribal region), distinct from the regular ST category. Allotment records show it filed under a candidate's "STA" (ST-Area) status.
Government-notified Scheduled Caste seats, allotted through the Rajasthan NEET UG Admission Board's state counselling.
Government-notified Scheduled Tribe seats, state-wide (separate from the Scheduled Area / SA quota). ST seats typically see the most relaxed cutoffs of any reserved category.
